So, I took German language classes in school in 2011/2012. I basically don't remember anything except for this one scene in a movie.

It's about a boy who lives in a village with his family, I don't remember any siblings, I remember his mom and the fact that he had rabbits as pets.

His dad comes home after fighting in the war and this boy barely knows him as he's been away for years. I remember the dad being very cold and stern towards everyone, including his wife.

The scene I remember the most is when the boy finds out that his dad has killed his rabbits and they're now eating them for dinner.

This scene obviously stayed with me since I remember it years later, but I can't find the movie for the life of me! Was it even German produced? They were speaking German if I remember correctly. Help me 😂
