Good Afternoon AFPC,

I just got my assignment notification and I’m pretty confused. I got RPA. Is there any way this is a glitch or something? I went to Embry-Riddle, did all the flight training, kept my grades up, and did the whole AFOQT and interview process. I was really hoping for a manned aircraft slot, fighter or even transport would have been fine. RPA just wasn’t what I had in mind at all.

I know the Air Force needs drone pilots but this feels like a waste of my background. I trained to actually fly planes, not sit in a box and control one from the ground. Can you please take another look at my records and see if there’s any way to get this changed? I’d really appreciate it

Also, kind of random but while you’re at it… maybe the Air Force could make a movie about RPA pilots someday like Top Gun. I was thinking maybe I could be the star in it because I’m still a hot shot and my school is pretty prestigious.
