Curious what it is like actually living there as a permanent resident, so I'm wondering if anyone has lived on that street or stayed at a hotel there (or has heard from friends who have) and can share their experience?

It's a very expensive and vibrant area, and online it is described as one of the most desirable locations in the city. On paper, the location looks amazing, and it even has current listings at a price that is not crazy for Amsterdam (e.g., 800k), but I'm curious whether actually living there is as good as it seems.
