East Asian Cultural Exploration Food Lovers in Burnaby

Hey folks!

42M living in Burnaby, looking to grow the East Asian Cultural Exploration group that I created 7 months ago from this Reddit group. Right now, the group is 13 people. But I really want to grow the foodie side of things because of the people who go out and eat, it's 5ish people per outing, and for family-style dinners, it's better to have around 8 to 10. So, looking for a few more people to join in with our feasts and shenanigans.

If I were to sum it up, we've got people from backgrounds like Japanese, Taiwanese, Korean, HK, and many of us born in Canada, and all of us speak English. Also, a variety of ages and backgrounds, from early 30s to early 50s. Also, from different areas, Richmond, East Van, Downtown, etc., but mostly around Burnaby (Metrotown/Edmonds). Mix of jobs: from extra on a hit TV show, management in gaming, entrepreneur, legal something-or-other, property management, accountant, on-call safety officer, entertainment group rep, and others. Gosh, it's very diverse.

It started with having dim sum together. And it has evolved to hang out separately in smaller pockets from playing pickleball, movie watching, hitting the sauna, discussing recalls at Costco, charity 5K runs, excursions to hunt crab, to workout discussions... a recent thing is a set of people are doing some biking followed by live jazz, we have a themed party in Sept, another part of the group may be contemplating gold panning (suggested yesterday)... so I have to say it has been so awesome for me personally and thankful to the girls and guys who joined back last November.

  • Platonic (only one member of a couple can join, and no dating within the group)
  • Fit within the existing group
  • English speaking
  • Similar generation, stage of life
  • Stylish, confident, fun
  • Must appreciate East Asian Culture
