A cat tree, apparently
His pass says dog, but I simply don’t know anymore.

His pass says dog, but I simply don’t know anymore.
I’ve had my Pygmy hedgehog in his current bioactive enclosure for a year now. I only changed his toilet tray and sand bath, but left the substrate alone.
The issue is, he pees where he goes and his enclosure has become a bit icky, so I want to change the substrate. He has isopods, springtails and dubia roaches (haven’t seen them in a while, so he probably ate them). But I see the pods (powder orange) every once in a while under logs and stuff. To change his substrate I need about 140 litres of soil, so it’s unrealistic to go through his old soil entirely to sieve out all pods. The soil mix is also quite chunky and has some layers of hay and orchid bark.
I obviously don’t want to introduce alien isopods to my garden to protect local species - especially since I found a relatively rare species outside.
So what do I do…
It’s world snake day, can someone please emphasise the snake (in contrast to the background), give it a party hat and a cake made of mice with a candle on top in front of him.
Will tip 5€.
Backstory: unfortunately I fed my first batch of gold lame Medaka too much which I guess resulted in a nitrate spike. I noticed that I saw less and less of them in the pond, but as they were new and they were my first fish I didn’t wanted to bother them. I know that I did wrong and I’m so sorry I’ve caused animals harm which were in my care. I’m also new to keeping fish as they are my first fishies.
I could safe one of them and wanted to wait with getting new ones. But he seemed uncomfortable being alone, so I ordered more. They arrived with morning and just look completely different. So now I’m wondering if I’m stupid, blind or if it’s natural variation.
Please tell me if you can spot the impostor.
Now I also don’t know which of these guys are actual gold lame Medaka (and I know it’s hard to tell from pics). Also sorry for the bad quality, my potato is not willing to focus on the fish.
