Wheel Week 2 Update

Wheel Week 2 Update

Hello everyone! I was motivated by a few others to post my results as a new to options trader. Right now I am limited to $1500 in total capital. I made a mistake in my first trade with LYFT and lost a little right off the bat. My goal is to make ~$100 a month and have done that well. I took u/ScottishTrader advice and have a GTC offer for 50% profit on my one open trade. I am trying to balance wanting to be an active trader with having the patience to execute my plan.

Feel free to give me advice or ask questions!

AMEX Gold vs. Delta Platinum vs. Venture X

Hello everyone!

For context, the only card I own right now if the Venture One, I have had the Discover IT and a Scheel's card, but simplified to one card. Now I am looking for an upgrade. I am getting married next June and we are planning on honeymooning in Italy, so I want to get as much points/perks as possible. Here are my options and thoughts:

  1. Venture X - I like using the Capital One portal and I am used to it. I like the flexibility of the travel credits. The 2x on everything is like a safety blanket. However, the only flights we like are Delta and there is no direct conversion (yes I can jump through the KLM hoops). I like to just reimburse travel expenses rather than book through the portal, but I can use it in a pinch.

  2. AMEX Gold - The 4x points on food (biggest spend) is really appealing, but the restaurant I frequent the most doesn't accept AMEX. Delta is a direct travel partner. I have not seen the travel portal or know how to use it. In my area, Uber and Resy are not popular so I am unsure about using the credits (don't want to increase spending to try and justify the credits). Same thing with Dunkin, the closest location is 15 miles out of my way.

  3. Delta Platinum - Delta is the only airline we really use (may use something else if significantly cheaper). The rewards seem more tangible without effort (free check bags and complimentary upgrades). However, points earn is much less on same things as AMEX Gold.

Any help would be greatly appreciated! We are hoping to travel a lot more once we get married!
