so i started with ff9 on iphone then i got so hooked that replayed all from 1 to x-2

my next in line would be 12 since 11 mmo... pass

but ive seen the gameplay, with all that AI going on etc........ i honestly play ff for the gameplay not the story, im thinking of skipping it, it kinda feels like playing ff14 which i hated

but i really really really loved balthier in ff tactics, and i see balthier is a big thing here

any comments regarding gameplay etc? forget story, i mainly skip cutscenes, cant be bothered

from my innexperience since i havent played it yet i do feel like ffX seems to have more enjoyable gameplay

i saw a youtuber saying that saorise pairs really good with king to boost her ult, can anyone tell me an optimal setup for saorise with king? i guess you can add pius to the mix to get ult boosted too

i use saorise as a ult battery, i dont really use her ult much since i kill bosses without breaking them

but would be great to know a setup focused around saorise's ult. i honestly think that endgame bosses have way too many shields for saorises ult to really matter since it targets only one person so even if u boosted reime or haanit they would perform 8 breaks per turn. some bosses have 30 shields so thats like 3/4 turns to break.

with my current bargielo isla cyrus reime setup i kill all bosses by turn 1 or two

but its become so repetitive that wold like to try using saorise to its maximum potential even if suboptimal

i have elemental light staff and battle tested tome on cyrus with lux lumiere, so basically double elemental boost on light

yesterday i cleared sunken ship and got tradewinds spear

i remember in octopath 1 elemental weapons were the goat, having wind elemental boost on teressa would make her concoctions be a beast

this game seems to be a bit different in that regard, maybe they dont have the same impact, i cant really imagine someone with a spear that boosts wind having enough magic attack to be worth using as a caster but im asking in case

any elemental boosting geared characters worth using?

i also read that battle tested tome that boosts elemental damage also boosts isla non elemental attack, but i am keeping it in cyrus so he stacks double elemental on lux lumiere, since aisla can def reach 99.999 but cyrus can actually surpass that since he has multi attacks.

ive also been postponing the king octopuff guarded elemental weapon since i use him to rob him 50k every so often but im almost done with game so i dont mind killing him already

anyway back to topic. any elemental weapon geared unit worth abusing?

i have my battle tested blade which boosts attack on reime

is there a tome that boosts a specific element so i can give battle tested tome to isla instead of having it stuck on cyrus?

so once you get the farm with the sheep setup that gives u those muttons that sell for 5k each, ur box gets full of crap from the vegetable farm all the time and u end up loosing many muttons

unfortunately you cannot remove the farm, you cannot clear it so u arent planting anything and most ingredients u can get from npcs

money is way more important in this game than recipes until you need some amity levels, and you only need a few amities like teressa and cyrus which have rare monsters encounters and wind x3

planting your garden is gonna make you waste so much passive money from muttons cause ull arrive and all ur boxxes will be cluttered by vegetable junk

do not upgrade your farm and do not plant anything until youre rolling in cash

u will for most of the game be needing money like crazy

unless you perform the trick where you dont clear the king octopuff boss in the island in the northern east sea and steal 50k run steal 50k run etc

ignore your farm

even with the octopuff thing going on, having both that plus the passive income is important since most of the tradegoods are over 100k

im gonna place my own recommendation here for future players who run hard mode on pc with the hackmode that makes it even harder on top

master pirates ring asap, put it on mareg (nothing new)
ignore hp boosts, too nerfed, focus on offensive and agi boosts from books

1st. master cancel moves asap
2nd. farm seeds as soon as u get access to farming seeds. i always postponed it cause i though i would be able to farm them later but that was never the case. i only farmed agi seeds
3rd focus on farming agi seeds and sp seeds. since agi buffs from books has been nerfed to 1/2 but seeds still provide +3. feed them to main character and tio. the sp seeds also provide immense value cause they increase by +10 which is 1/5 of what the books provide

many important moves and gear has been utterly neerfed:

the drop from demons (black clover or smth)
tight dress
millenias move spellbinding eye is utter garbage now

learn fallen wings asap on millenia and white apocalypse assap to farm mobs next to a recovery point. their damage is way stronger than any magic. they scale with magic and have way lower speed than any magics

elena is way better than millenia for a single reason: droplets of life skill
revives removes status, replenishes hp, fking broken skill, always keep her sp above 40 so she can perform it in any circunstance

the alhealer has been nerfed so much that even with all the +men buffs from the books ull be at max performing a 1400 heal with elena. this is kinda bullshit so forget having a dedicated healer and make ur item user ur dedicated healer instead with POTION OF AZURE

item user is the most broken in the whole run for this mode. buy all the sp and mp recovery plus revivals from all the local stores under local delicassies. they will save ur ass.

this is the most broken setup. she performs 3 times!! for every time anyone else does anything amd has AOE cancel move. cant overstate how many times tio saved my ass

i had her as a mage by the time mareg is around and mareg as item user cause mareg is kinda useless everywhere

always try to keep speed buffs on tio and main char cause +act buffs are exponential. if ur agi is shit ure final agi will still be shit. if tio keeps dying or has chances of dying dont buff her act

roar from mareg was buffed to +2 spam it
flyin tenseiken buffed to -3 def abuse it

roan sucks at everything just use it as whatever u want. use snowball and when he returns make him ur dps mage until millenia

millenias best moves are

fallen wings for aoe clear farms. (abuse her to farm the first times u get her)

HEEL CRUSH -1 att def act. spam this move

THE ONLY MAGIC WORTH USING IS METEOR STRIKE
power +100 x 6.7.

nothing comes even close to that 6.7 multiplier only ever use this magic all time. the second best moves are the ones that use SP

MP moves arent worth using they have been nerfed too much. use GADZAP (x3 multiplier) until u get meteor

meteor was removed from all eggs before star egg

room clear moves make less damage than smaller aoe. try to make ur moves have the least aoe possible cause they are faster and make more damage. the moves with linear aoe make more damage than circular aoe so if u can hit a dragon zap do it

meteor strike > dragon zap> boom / howlslash

the best move to invest in is cold. priorize debuffs over buffs since ure gonna be dying a fking lot

always start by cold to lvl 5 and maybe some strams if u keep dying, u can also speedy ur item user if he is somehow surviving. +5 att to justin -5 def to enemy with asura (+2 chain combo) will be ur highest damage dealing until u get meteor magic

priorize stram or heel crush over digg, since ur characters are gonna die constantly and ull lose your digg buffs. if you want to keep buffs up keep them on mareg since hes the only one that mostly survives due to high vit, second in line beinf main char

abuse snooze. snooze was nerfed so u might have to use it a lot

avoid enemy encounters unless they drop seeds. manage to get to a mob that gives seeds and farm levels there

get +50 mag from books asap

all elemental buffs from books have been replaced by buffs to mag. they arent great but better than nothing

for tio priorize +act gear over damage or def

for mareg priorize +def gear over damage or mov etc

+sp gear sounds ok in theory but the sp gains are way too low. a item user handing butter rolls still much better +20sp or +30sp

buy these regional items to +99. priorize them over armors or weapons

crackling over nerfed. dont bother with it

if u see regional items that perform debuffs get them

a stram is super slow compared to a guy with item skills equiped throwing an item that lowers attack def etc

u will be able to throw 3/4 items by the same time u manage to perform a debuffing skill

this applies to all skills that can be replaced ty an item, never cast resurrect, using yomis elixir saves you a lot of IP. the only revival worth using is a full party revival with elenas skill

dont bother with damage items, sometimes i used ones that have great ip damage like mogay bombs but i would say spending time recovering ur party members sp or mp is way better usage

body of valmar has a savepoint next to the boss where u can softlock urself, have separate saves before it cause u might fuck up ur entire run

use cheatengine to increase speed for scenes. but turn it off if anyone performs ZAP or LIONS ROAR since these close the game

theres another bug where game crashes if u keep pressin buttons on reward screens

game crashes a lot so always stay close to savepoints and save as much as possible. i regularly have to repeat 3h boss battles cause of random crashes closing the game….

dont spend seeds on mareg

seeds on elena dont transfer to millenia. by endgame u end up getting two books that offer intelligence buffs. elena endgame becomes caster not healer so its safe to give her seeds that increase mag

i find elena to be the best recipient of overall seeds since she uses the most stats, even more than main character

str spd seeds go to main character

agi tio main character

try to raise sp for tio to 60 so she can perfom tornado twice

anyone has a 99.999 setup for main character? im using archer but ive seem that as a swordman he makes more damage

he lacks damage compared to my main dealers isla, cyrus and reime and honestly is a drag to bring him on. if i could despose him i would. i mainly use him for guaranteed steals. sniper and mystic arrow (isla reime consume a lot of sp) but tbh hes lackluster in endgame

anyone has a build to make him the best powerhouse in the whole team?

i need good aoe attacks to clear widely aoe style. specially for reime and haanit. haanit is good at breaking bows but i want damage

i was curious of this. i made a savefile and fed sp seeds to elena before a cutscene, the stats didnt transfer to millenia unfortunately.

i had previously fed millenia a million mag seeds and i always saw elenas mag lackluster, i will have to make tests with mag seeds but it will probably be more of the same

theres many people claiming the stats transfer even chatgpt and gemini say so, but doesnt seem to be the case

so ive been searching everywhere, and gemini and chatgpt kept bluffing saying fallen wings scales with str, its bullshit. i want to clarify it scales with mag for future me who might try to search again and these stupid ai chatbots can now get their shit together from this post

theres a lot of rng manipulation ive been doing lately

im farming for triple ap weapons from one eye monster in arena and i realised if i reset savestate any monster in the arena is gonna give me a weapon for the same champion with stats

so i got triple ap for yuna but already got it, went to see if i could use my turbo on yojimbo for auto-phoenix instead with big sphere monster

as long as i use the same savvestate all monsters are dropping

for the same champion (yuna)
added states (on)

so fore example if i went for triple ap for kuhmari but got an ap accessory for lulu instead, i could roll back save state and defeat big sphere monster and it would instead give me an accessory for lulu with auto-phoenix

also yojimbo doesnt move its rng forward either, whatever money it costed it costs the same, seems to be going in circles around a few presets where one is always zanmato even at 1 zenni, one is never zanmato regardless the money, other is zanmato around 65k and other is automatically strike all, can do this twice in a row (annoying cause he ends up dying) im playing on emulator so i reset game completely to reset yojimbo states.

after zanmato regardless the money he seems to always get the, never able to proc zanmato state, so i usually reset console after that state to reroll states

this is also a useful way to see which arena monsters give armor with stats that are useful, i never knew big sphere gave 4 spaces with autophoenix before i got it randomly, wonder if auto haste or ribbon can be gotten other than with dark eons

can also be done for no encounters accessory with ghost i guess

you can also leave map fight and arena savestate for items keeps the same

i was fighting one eye, zanmato was impossible first turn but yojimbo survived, then went zanmato and got a kimahri accessory (useless)

but a kimahri accessory with auto phoenix would be great so went to big sphere but i wasnt surviving the first attack to perform zanmato on second attack

i walked outside, summoned yojimbo to move worward his attacks by one killing some petryfying snakes, i was scared that they would give me a weapon for yuna and i would lose the state at the arena but that wasnt the case

went back to arena went to big ball boss and now zanmato was performed first time since i had moved his attacks by one forward, i killed the monster and got my accessory with auto phoenix for kimahri. great

if i killed ghost i would have gotten accessory with no encounters instead for kimahri as well

i also reroll to see how cheap i can get zanmato for

what is tarted doing now is kill a cheap mob like ghost from caverns and see what it gets me to see if im interested in putting the effort for the big guy drops. i need to find a faster mob that drops gear

i can move the savestate for weapons with ghost but if the savestate gives me an armor ghost drops nothing, so i know for sure the drop is armor if ghost drops nothing

cometierra gives autopotion gear

there are plenty kimahri recommendations for easy grid but none apply to expert grid

this is what i decided to do in the end:

go to STEAL and USE by rikku

wait until auron finishes his grid

use friend orb to teleport to auron skill that passes the turbo to others SENTINEL

use 2 x lvl3 orbs to go into tidus last skill on the left pick ENTRUST & QUICK HIT, keep in tidus grid to grab HASTEGA (i decided to go until delay buster to pick some agility)

friend orb to wakka TRIPLE FOUL, stay in wakkas grid. (i actually used a lvl 3 orb with wakka to grab the attack next to bio, you can also teleport there and make your way down instead)

if u dont want to wait so long i recommend then use friend sphere mid game to teleport to hastega and do the same path from there

this makes him the best player in the rooster by the way

nothing can compare to damage to her

scales of justice. bp up, bp up, she comes from back row and nukes eveything

if they survive, refill her sp a bit and use ultimate
