A warning to the No-Code & Airtable community regarding miniExtensions.
If you are relying on miniExtensions for your critical workflows, please be aware of how they treat long-standing, loyal subscribers.
I have been a customer since May 2020, originally subscribing to their $20/month Unlimited Access plan.
Here is how a series of broken promises completely disrupted my operations:
- February 2024 (The Promise): Co-founder Abdul Alzenki announced a price increase from $20/mo to $39/mo. However, he explicitly promised in writing that my plan would “continue to function the same way (e.g., unlimited extensions, records, etc.)” as a legacy tier. I accepted the 100% price hike in good faith.
- July 2025 (The Bait-and-Switch): Without warning, my account was essentially frozen. I was blocked from creating any new extensions on both the old and new platforms. Worse, I was completely locked out of editing the existing extensions I already built.
- The Response: When I reached out to support, co-founder Moe informed me that the legacy plan was retired company-wide, and flatly stated, “We won’t be able to make exceptions or revisit this decision.”
- The Forced "Fade Out": Moe claimed that “all existing extensions remain fully functional under the original plan,” but the platform is actively deprecating and phasing out extensions in the old system, pushing banners to "try the new extension" version. They are doing the same thing in their new system. PDF
The Bottom Line: Because I am completely restricted from creating new extensions, the forced deprecation of my existing, working setups means they are actively removing my usability and have entirely broken my workflow. They are putting me in a corner where my tools are frozen unless I pay much more for their new multi-tiered plans.
Holding a user's historical data and active workflows hostage to force an expensive premium upgrade is a terrible way to treat early adopters.
If you are looking for alternative form and interface builders that respect their users, I highly recommend looking into Fillout or Softr.
