Is it realistic to work full time and study part time postgrad degree?
Hi everyone,
I’m based in London and currently working full-time in a management role in a small company. I work 5 days a week, with 2 days wfh. For this reason I cant take study leave, but I also have pretty relaxed wfh days where I get on with my own work as well as the job. My boss is pretty flexible too, but wouldnt want me to reduce my role to part time.
Still, i'm considering applying for a part-time Master’s at UCL (MA intercultural communication), but I’ve been told teaching is in-person and attendance is required for lectures and seminars. Id be doing max 2 modules at a time.
I wanted to ask people who have done something similar:
Is it realistically manageable to work full-time and do a part-time MA with in-person attendance?
How many days a week are you usually on campus?
Does it tend to be concentrated into 1–2 days, or spread across the week?
How did you balance deadlines, reading, and full-time work?
I’m trying to understand whether this is genuinely doable or if it’s only realistic for people working part-time or very flexible jobs.
Im hoping if it is manageable, Id be able to attend the in person things while working my job assuming I dont have to go into campus every day of the week.
Any honest experiences would be really appreciated.
