HELP: I want to buy my 1st bowling ball
Stats: Female, 25 years old, 5'1", average 14-15km/h speed, two-handed right side bowler, conventional grip
Context: I used to bowl once every month when I was a teenager with my family, but started getting back into it this year more seriously because of my friends. I bought Dexter shoes, a single-ball bag, and now I want to own my own ball.
Preferences: I've been pretty consistent getting strikes/ spares with the 12lb house balls, but I also tested my friends 12lb Storm Tropical Surge Pearl, drilled with a bit more forward roll since she also doesn't have much speed, and it actually worked really well with my bowling style. But personally, I do not want a Tropical Surge.
I want a ball that I can grow into and use more long-term. I'd prefer to use a 12lb ball - I understand many balls have a different core once they go over 12lbs, but I have a slightly bad back and wrists from dance/ work. I would be open to using a 13lb ball if needed. I've done extensive research on the Hammer Arctic Vibe, but the core for the 12lb is the pancake/ lightbulb core and I'm not sure if that's bad. Also since my speed is slow, I need a ball that won't hook too early.
I've attached a video of me bowling with a 12lb house ball for reference (I usually like to hook the ball much more but I can only do so much with a house).
Please let me know your thoughts and suggestions! I want a bowling ball so bad, so please help with any recommendations! Thank you in advance
