The Democrats are so fucked. Hear me out...

Love Scott and Jes, but you can hear the giddiness in Jes's voice every episode when she talks about the Dems' rising poll numbers. Those of us who are Dems are happy about it too, but let's play this out.

Dems roll in November and take the House, maybe the Senate. Then what? Investigations, fine. There needs to be some. But the economy is on track to fall apart, and right around the time Dems take power (Republicans are praying it doesn't happen before the elections), it'll be on the cusp of free fall. Not the markets, the economy every day Americans: gas prices through the roof, inflation, rising interest rates, no end to the war, bond markets blinking red. And the biggest drivers of all this, the tariffs and the war with Iran, are largely in the White House's control, not Congress's. Anything a Dem House and Senate pass to rein them in, Trump will just veto. So they'll own the economy to the voters on paper without being able to do much to fix it.

Trump is already priming the country for this. He knows knows full well that the congress is lost yet in every speech he's staying if Dems win and the economy shits the bed, he and his party will say over and over, "See? THIS is what happens when Democrats are in charge!" You and I know that's bullshit and that they're the ones who got us here. But he's already priming them for the outcome and most low-information voters will just think, "Yeah, everything's pretty bad, and they're the ones in power now."

Prediction: one step forward, two steps back. Republicans lose one or both chambers in November, then spend the next two years leveraging the damage they caused by blaming the Dems to inevitably take it all back, probably even the White House. I hope I'm wrong, but the chaos of the next two years could make the last two look like a rom-com.

Not working in 2026, good time to sell and diversify?

I've been a moderately high income earner for the last few years and left my company to take a break in January this year.

I will go back to work but don't expect to until q4 at the earliest, maybe even next year. Since I have no income in 2026, is now the best time to sell and take the capital gains hits at a lower rate and rebalance my portfolio?

Buying accessible seats, but not disabled - but the are THE LAST TICKETS REMAINING

All other tickets are sold out and came across this when I asked Google:

"Strictly speaking, no. ADA (Americans with Disabilities Act) seats are reserved exclusively for individuals with disabilities and their companions. While venues cannot demand medical proof of disability, purchasing these tickets without requiring the features of accessible seating is considered a violation of policy, and venues often relocate non-disabled attendees to standard seats.

However, there is a major exception: general public release. If an event is entirely sold out and all standard, non-accessible tickets are gone, venues are legally permitted to release and sell unsold ADA-accessible seats to the general public.
