I've loved Armored Core since AC2, and this gives me AC vibes. I love mechs in general and I feel like mecha is a starved genre. So after months of this being in my wishlist, debating over it because I overthink everything, I'm taking the plunge.
I bought this game a year ago. I was hyped for it, as I love the first game. For some reason, shortly after buying it, and briefly booting up the first game, the hype just left me. It's like a switch flipped and I suddenly wasn't in the mood to play it.
Well, after talking aout the series with a friend, that feeling of unchecked ADHD returned, and I'm thinking about the game more and more; feeling like I'm excessively caffeinated at the thought of playing it.
The signs are clear. It's time to play this game, and nothing else, for the next two months.
Greetings and salutations! I have played quite a few soulslikes, and I'm currently in the middle of Steelrising. But something I've realized as I've checked games off my list is there no actual spells, and it's leaving a void in my...soul.
Lies of P is amazing, and goes up there on my list of favorite games of all time, to the point where I view it as a true souls game, and not just a soulslike. But running an advance build, while amazing and fun, left me wishing I could cast spells similar to how some alchemists shoot lightning and fire at me.
Steelrising has alchemy builds for elemental damage, but no spells.
Nioh has elemental buffs, and much later, AOEs, but I can't run around going full caster or even mostly caster.
Code Vein has spells, and I think that's the only soulslike I've played that has a proper caster class you can build.
