Beginner at running - calves burning
Dear runners, I hope this message finds you well with your amazing paces 😄
I just started running. I went for first time and I was walking fast and trying to do small jogging to catch up the people who were still considered beginners with slower pace. On the second time, I decided I would only walk and try a bit of running.
On third time, I chose to do intervals to get used to. 5 min warm up walking. (5x) 1 min running, 2 minutes walking, 5 min cool down.
Yesterday on my 4th time, I was planning to do the same interval, but I couldn’t keep up the 1 minute running even slowly. My calves were burning so much and painful that I couldn’t keep up. I think on the 3rd repetition I gave up for only walking fearing to get injured.
I was wondering if such pain feeling was due to Sunday workout I did and the other day going for exercising even tho was light. The coach from the running group said that lack of stretching could be the cause and the other one told me that I just needed time to adjust and just try a bit over and stop before hits too much on pain and burning.
How frequent did you feel that in your first times running? Would it be my gear (I haven’t invested in those professional expensive shoes, I have a normal adidas running line which is quite comfortable); lack of electrolytes, tiredness, wrong technique? What for you was the main reason if you figured out?
I appreciate your answer! Much more min/km for ya! 😃
