If you’re recording a tutorial, demo, or stream, it’s often useful for viewers to see exactly what you’re pressing without breaking their focus.

That’s why I built Keyty - free, open-source native macOS app that displays your keyboard and mouse input directly on screen.

A few things it supports now:
- keyboard overlays with different themes and layouts
- mouse button and click visualization
- customizable size, position, and appearance

It’s built in Swift, runs locally, and is completely free and open source.

What would you want from a keyboard/mouse visualizer that tools like this usually don’t have?

Доброго дня, шановна спільното! Хочу поділитися своїм невеликим open-source проєктом - Keyty.

Це нативний macOS-застосунок, який показує натискання клавіш і кнопок миші прямо на екрані. Може бути корисним для запису туторіалів, демо, презентацій, стрімів або скрінкастів.

Я почав робити його як більш сучасну альтернативу KeyCastr - хотілося кращої візуалізації миші, більш сучасного UI та більше можливостей кастомізації.

Наразі у Keyty можна:

- показувати натискання клавіш у вигляді keyboard overlay;
- візуалізувати кліки та кнопки миші;
- змінювати теми, розмір і позицію overlay;
- окремо налаштовувати поведінку для різних екранів.

Застосунок повністю безкоштовний, open source і написаний нативно під macOS. Буду радий будь якому фідбеку! Якщо проєкт здається корисним - буду вдячний за ⭐ на GitHub, це дуже допомагає Keyty ставати помітнішим.

I’ve been working on Keyty, an open-source native macOS app that visualizes keyboard and mouse input on screen.

It started as a modern and native alternative to tools like KeyCastr and KeyViz but I wanted to build something that feels more like a current macOS app and also handles mouse visualization and have rich customization.

There are many of things I want to improve, so I’d especially appreciate feedback from other macOS developers implementation choices, APIs I may be misusing, UX around permissions, or anything else you notice.
