windows 11 pro keys for a new setup is it actually worth paying full price?
the main thing is that windows 11 pro keys at full price are usually a waste of money unless you absolutely need pro-grade encryption for a business laptop. if you are just building a gaming rig and want to save $100, the catch with cheaper keys is usually just losing the ability to transfer that license to your next build down the road. so go with the cheap key if you stay on the same motherboard for 5+ years, but grab the retail version if you swap parts every season.
what kind of windows licenses are you guys actually using for your aesthetic setups?
curious if anyone has actually managed to transfer a cheap key to a new motherboard or if it just bricked immediately.
(found a decent writeup on this earlier if anyone wants the deeper breakdown: https://logkeys.com/guides/cheap-windows-11-pro-key-us)
old reliable just refuses to die. who else is still rocking an ancient gpu in 2026?
Rate my custom open-air mesh chassis. Maximum airflow achieved. Ready for Cyberpunk!
There's something about a dialed-in setup late at night that hits differently. No notifications, no noise just you, your machine, and whatever you're building or playing. What does your setup mean to you beyond just specs?
For me it was a monitor arm. Sounds boring. Completely transformed my workspace more desk space, better ergonomics, cleaner look. Not the GPU. Not the CPU. A $35 arm. What was yours?
Took longer than I expected but I refused to post until it was exactly right. White desk, white peripherals, single overhead light, zero clutter. No RGB — just clean lines. What's one thing you'd change about your current setup if you started over?
Priorities were assessed. Monitors were unboxed. The desk ships in 6 days. Currently running a 27" display on a cardboard box like the engineer I am. Setup pic coming when I figure out my life.
My landlord raised my rent. My girlfriend said "maybe stop buying PC parts." My GPU said "buy me." Guess who won. Current vibe: RGB on, bills ignored, frame rates immaculate. Anyone else's setup financially irresponsible but spiritually fulfilling?
