Surgery coming up, nervous but also ready to feel better

I had my neurosurgeon appointment and he made it clear that I needed surgery to alleviate the issues I am having. I will be having a C5-C6 fusion with a C7 disc replacement or fusion, we won't know until he is in there. My surgery is slated for November 17th. If I had my choice I would be in surgery today, just to be done with it. The waiting game has me struggling.

I am nervous about the surgery but also extremely ready. It has gotten so bad I've been unable to stand for more than 5 minutes without being in excruciating pain. They have me on some meds that are helping but I am still struggling. My job has me on my feet so I have been off since September.

I've read through so many stories and experiences on here which has been very helpful. I am not stranger to surgeries, I've had 10 previous abdominal surgeries, but this one has me rattled a bit. Being on your neck and your spine it's just scary.

If anyone has any advice, tips, things you don't realize would be a thing after surgery, etc. Also, if there is anything you felt you needed from your partner/spouse/etc during recovery, I would greatly appreciate it!

Has anyone dealt with this? At dealership now but not doing it anymore

2022 Niro EV. I was actually on my way to the dealership for something else when this all started.

I got a call today that the tech who is working on it didn't see any of this occur and apparently nothing is popping up on their end, so I am picking it up tomorrow.

I am not thrilled with taking it back with no real understanding as to what's going on.

Thought I would post here and see if anyone else has navigated anything like it.

Have MRI results and appointment Thursday to go over them. Just nervous about what they will want to do

Hello everyone. Just found this group today and have been reading through everyone's experiences.

I am 40 and have had back pain for years, but my neck has been progressively getting worse. I work retail and am on my feet for 8 plus hours a day which has lead to more pain and me reaching out to a doctor to help. The ordrred tests and I got my mri results back. It now makes sense what's been causing all the pain and issues I have been having. Lots of numbness, tingling, weakness, headaches and muscle spams. It's made life miserable.

I am ready to have this appointment and begin treatment, I am just nervous on what approach they will want to take. I know there is a wide range of things that they might want to do, but I am most nervous they will immediately want to do surgery. Has anyone here who has had somewhat similar results have any experience they can share? I appreciate any insight or advice you can give.
