I, 16F, work as a cashier at a grocery store and one of my coworkers 38F, has made some comments that I am not sure are okay to be asking. First, she told me that if one of our other coworkers, 17M, was older, that she would flirt with him and that she thinks he is cute. A few days later when I was working with her she commented on a women’s butt as she was shopping and told me how fat that women’s butt was. A few minutes later our boss walked by and my coworker said “she has a niceeeee ass”. Later that day we are both standing at our registers in silence when she tells me that I am a very pretty girl. I say thank you and just move on because I didn’t think anything of it. A few minutes later she asks me if I am into boys or girls and when I tell her boys she tells me that she is into both. That made me kind of uncomfortable considering the things she’s said before she asked me that question. A few days later when I worked again I told my manager and she told me that what my coworker said was weird and inappropriate. My manager told our bosses and they said they would deal with the situation. Our managers and bosses already have issues with her since she would ask the kids working if they had any change to help her not cigarettes since she couldn’t afford any. The reason I am feeling guilty about telling my manager about the comments my coworker has made is because I know that my coworker is struggling financially, has kids at home, and I am mutuals with her older son who is the kindest guy I’ve met. So do you think I should feel guilty or is what I did okay?
