Which city has the coolest exposed geology coexisting with urban structures?

My fav: the massive dikes visible on a walk in downtown Nuuk, Greenland. Bonus pic from the hills on the outskirts of town

local artists for specialty screen print commission?

interested in getting a custom design screen printed down the sleeve of a snow suit. would have to use whatever special inks/preparation necessary to stick to waterproofed black nylon

don't have a specific design at this point - can give guidelines, maybe plants/birds/mushrooms/?? - most interested in finding someone who can help brainstorm or run with a general idea to make it look sweet

alternatively i could get a design together and have someone just help execute the screen prep & printing

timeline: flexible, would be cool to have done by mid november
budget: somewhere in the range of the price of a fancy snow suit

Insanely loud, house-shaking rumbling just now?

12:37am, woke up to what seemed like loud thunder at first, kept getting more intense until the house was literally shaking. Lasted several seconds

West end, but felt like it would've woken the whole city

What the hell?

Wall cracking and ground subsidence, maybe associated with water service line?

Housesitting for some family members, and noticed

  • this kinda bulging crack on the 1st floor interior wall
  • walkway pavers that used to lay in straight lines have pulled sideways and sunk in one spot
  • a sidewalk block is sunken on one side by 2", creating a tripping hazard

These issues all fall on a straight line from the street to the house, which pretty much lines up with the path of the water service line. Dunno if coincidental, but seems suspicious? That being said, no visible leakage or wetness there from what I can see in the basement.

Also, the one hydrangea planted on the line is stunted and way smaller than all the others - no idea if relevant, just another weird thing in the pattern

Advice for next steps?
