Should I feel weird about yoga at church?

I recently started attending an Episcopal church in the new city I moved to. I really like this church and they're quite traditional and reverent on Sunday mornings. I saw they were hosting a yoga/breathwork/sound healing event so I went. It was held in the sanctuary.

The breathwork and sound healing were pretty straightforward, but the instructor for the yoga practiced Kemetic (Egyptian) yoga and talked about our energy flowing through us, our pineal gland opening our third eye to the divine, etc. She didn't mention any Egyptian dieties but it still left me feeling a bit...off.

Should I feel weird about this? I have an evangelical background that might explain my unease...but it just seemed weird to be engaging to some degree in another spiritual tradition at church. Open to all thoughts and opinions. Thanks!

South shore line 2 week parking

Hi! I want to take the train into Chicago for a two week trip. I was thinking about parking at Dune Park based on other posts, but there aren't many people who seem to have parked there for a longer trip. Of course I will let South Shore know I am parking for a long time so I don't get towed, but should I feel safe parking there for that long? I'm coming from Goshen so I'm hesitant to book at uber from the airport...but it wouldn't be any cheaper to park at SBN for two weeks.

Thoughts? Does anyone have any bad stories of car vandalism from Dune Park?

How to make this tub a shower? (**rental friendly**)

There are three of us moving into a 3bed 2ba. Everything about the house is great…except the upstairs bathroom (where all three bedrooms also are) doesn’t have a shower? How could we convert this into a shower without tearing anything up? Is a 360 degree shower curtain (like a clawfoot tub shower) the only option? Or could we cover up the window somehow? Not sure what to do or if we’re just sorry out of luck.

Thoughts on this area of Irvington?

Hi! I am considering renting a home this summer in Irvington. It seems that coming across houses to rent in Irvington is a bit difficult, but we may be getting somewhere with this particular house. We know this is south of the tracks, which isn’t the ~nicest~ area of Irvington, but it still seems decent to us.

  1. Is this still a relatively safe place to live?
  2. How often do trains run through this area?
