Notes and doodles from Tuesday’s meeting. Doodles for the Ames Golf & Country Club, a house for CDBG & HOME funds, a mini split condenser, a stoplight with turn arrows for 13th and Grand (coming in 2028), and a RICE generator. Thanks for looking!
Late post for last Tuesday’s meeting. By now you’ve likely heard that we voted 6-0 to delay any data center decisions until we do more research. We’ll decide how long to delay at the meeting on the 28th. Not many doodles, and of all the meetings to leave my notebook at home! 😞
Last night’s notes and doodles. I didn’t have much time for doodles, as I was prioritizing notes. I did manage to squeeze one half of a server rack in though. The Lightedge co-location/data center was the main topic, though there were other important issues addressed too (like safety along Lincoln Way near S Russell).
Regarding the data center, the public listening/input session will be held next Tuesday (6/30) at 6 p.m.
Thanks again to all those who have reached out so far and who listened or attended last night’s meeting!
Catching up with notes and doodles from last week’s AAMPO & Council meetings and this week’s workshop on construction delivery methods.
Upcoming topic of interest: At next week’s meeting we will hear a presentation about the Lightedge Collocation (aka Data) Center that is being proposed, and Council can ask clarifying questions, but we will take no action. Then, on 6/30 at 6 pm we will have a special meeting to serve as a public listening session on this topic.
Last night’s notes and doods from the Joint Mtg with the Ames Community School Board and Superintendent. Doodles for the Ames Center (school district) property at 13th and Northwestern and a sandwich board.
Notes and doodles for last night, with doodles for a traffic signal, poppies, a baby, a map of a low density housing development near Tabor Rd, and the Airport runways. We also decided to discontinue pursuing solar at the airport for the time being.
Notes and doodles from Tuesday’s meeting, with doodles for the flag, Stange Rd, a dead tree, the Ansley subdivision, and the new Animal Services building. Thanks for looking!
Last Tuesday’s meeting, with doodles for Arbor Day, Historic Preservation awards, The Irons, Auburn Trail, the Baker subdivision, south of campus, and Ames Water. Thanks for looking!
Notes and doodles from last night’s workshop on electricity. Half the workshop (or more) was devoted to learning about new thermal generation (RICE units), and the other half was about solar. Doodles for each!
