Curious about the average engagement ring size. What feels comfortable and looks balanced?

I'm curious about the average engagement ring size in the US. I keep seeing different answers online and it's making me second-guess what I fought was normal.

If you're already engaged or married, what size did you go with. I'd love to hear what feels comfortable, what looks balanced on your hand, and if ever wished you went bigger or smaller.

cathedral setting vs prong setting for engagement ring?

Ive been looking at engagement rings lately and i keep seeing the terms cathedral setting and prong setting, but i’m still trying to understand which one people usually prefer.

From what i see, cathedral settings have those arches that lift the center stone up, while prong settings seem more simple and just hold the diamond with the prongs. i like the elegant look of the cathedral style, but i’m also wondering if a simpler prong setting might be more practical for everyday wear.

For those who have one of these settings, how has it been for daily use? does the cathedral setting snag more or feel higher on the finger? and if you chose a prong setting, did you ever wish you went with something more detailed? Just curious to hear some real experiences before deciding what style i like more.

Regretting my wedding ring design choice a little... anyone else?

I was so focused on making my wedding ring unique that I added a lot of design details during the customization process. Now that I've been wearing it for a few weeks, I'm wondering if I should have gone with something simpler.

Don't get me wrong, I still love it, but some of the details aren't as practical for everyday wear as I expected. What would you change if you could redesign it today?

Cushion vs princess, which shape looks better in real life

I've been obsessing over this decision and I need your honest opinions, fellow jewelry lovers

Photos make the princess cut look incredibly sleek and modern, but every time I see one IRL, it reads smaller than I expect. Meanwhile, the cushion cut I tried on practically filled my finger, it had this gorgeous presence that the princess just couldn't match in person.

I want this to feel like the most special, intentional gift, not just something that looked good on a screen. For those of you who've worn or gifted both: did the cushion vs princess choice feel obvious once you saw them side by side? Any regrets?

I'm trying to pick a lab-grown diamond carat size that looks nice and balanced without feeling huge, but I'm getting overwhelmed by all the specs.

I'm open to round or oval (maybe cushion too), and I'm not chasing he biggest possible diamond, more like the sweet pot where it looks great, photographs well, and doesn't feel cartoonishly large in real life. Budget-wise, I'm trying to be smart since lab-grown makes bigger sizes tempting, but I don't want to regret going too big.

If you were aiming for noticeable but not huge, what carat range (and/am mm dimensions) would you recommend for a lab-grown diamond, and what specs should I actually prioritize so I don't get tricked by numbers?
