I saw my surgeon today, 11 months after laparoscopic inguinal hernia surgery, because I still have a groin lump that is squishy. My case involved a lipoma on the round ligament and a lymph node that became trapped in the inguinal canal. The lipoma was removed and tested.
Anyway, today she felt the area and informed me that it is a separate lipoma. Has anyone else had this happen before?
She explained that the original ultrasound and CT scan showed *a* lipoma in the groin, and the one that was removed was deeper in the tissues and probably didn't pick up on original imaging as the current lipoma is closer to the surface of the skin.
It would be open surgery if I went through with another surgery.
