Di ba playwright’s festival siya mga mhie? This festival is suppose to showcase and respect the art ng teatro, wherein madami din veteran theater actors na involve dapat. Di ba dapat they should promote the writers more and talk about the plays more? I think they have become commercialized na masyado at nalamon na din in the system of contents. Sana worth it yung nabili ko na pass for the first week. Reading sa posters mas marami ang showbiz actors, compared sa mga batikan na theater actors. Me is hoping na mas mabigyan pa the real theater actors ng opportunities. So, konti na nga lang their opportunities to act, mukhang ma penetrate pa ng ka showbizan. Who is excited to watch VLF plays this June? I secured na my festival pass . SUPER EXCITED ME! When are you watching? What/Who are you excited to watch? Excited me to see some of my favorite regular actors and mga works ng virgin playwrights, actors, directors. Sana they will also honor mga regular ng festivals ( from actors, directors, playwrights). Napanuod ko ang play na MIRANDA/YOLANDA sa last week ng show nila. When i entered the venue, so dami na nakasabit na mga chandeliers halata mo na pang mayaman ang setting ng play. Marami nanuod, pero di gaano puno. I guess yung crisis is taking a toll sa bentahan ng tickets. Then the play started. First stop ay ang story ni Miranda. She was so in the zone while acting at medyo napag-iwanan ang dalawa niyang kasama sa scenes. Anna was so into it na nagmumukhang they are totally coming from different acting schools. Pili na lamg kayo saang acting school ang gusto ninyo. Sana nagpakiramdaman sila sa isa’t isa at nakikinig para naka sync the entire acting and ensemble. The mother played by Frances was playing it as if nasa classical play siya. The guy in the play, played ni Joshua was fun to watch in the beginning, pero kung ano siya sa simula yun na yun. Wala ng ibang pinuntahan the guy. I feel like the guy could he much older. The story was very apt lalo na with the political situation ng country natin. I feel like some text were updated para mas swak sa new generation. So, di na siya original text ni Floy? Same thing with YOLANDA. Di ko din maintindihan kung sino kausap ng characters, because they favor certain audiences when they talk to each other. Anyway, MIRANDA eventually became like BLANCHE DUBOIS towards the end. I feel like ganun the inspiration ng writer writing the character. So, nagkaroon ng break. Lumabas me to take a leak. Pag pasok ko ibang set naman nakita ko. May mga hints of ethnic ethnic the set. Then nag start na ang play, with Topper as first character entering the second play, YOLANDA. I have watched TOPPER in a lot of plays, i think ito yung pinaka grounded siya at sa Angels pala. Tapos enter Jules who was a fireball! Then the two together onstage becomes more interesting. Bali dalawang baklang nagbabaklaan onstage. Di ba ang saya? Pasok si YOLANDA, played by Shamaine. My god the bravora of Shamaine is undeniable. She was in her element that night. The hair element was so funny. The chemistry of Shamaine and Topper was really good together. This is were the listening with each other really works. The character of YOLANDA was actually a crazy bitch, but there is a moment that you sympathize with her. Maawa ka sa kanya in the end, baka kasi sa kabaliwan niya “what if she is right?”. Or ganun lang kagaling di Shamaine that i am very affected sa play. Grabe tawanan at hiyawan sa play na ito. Both plays are very relatable, lalo na sa nangyayari sa bansa. It was also nice to see plays na ganito, away sa mga musicals na mga plays. Nakakainis lang watching the play also, kasi ma realize mo talaga bakit may taong mga naghihirap, dahil sa mga taong katulad nila Miranda at Yolanda at mga kasapi nila.
