All 4,000+ local events happening over the next two weeks

All 4,000+ local events happening over the next two weeks

I find myself every Friday night looking through dozens of individual bar's calendars, theater's schedules, and even this subreddit to find out what is happening over the next week which id like to go to. I imagine many of you have a similar weekly ritual.

No more! I scraped together every single event i could find in the entire city (more than 4000 such events from 400+ venues) and compiled a single map, sortable by date and time of the event.

Try it out here: https://uncouchme.com

This is not an advertisement, im not profiting off this, its a tool i made for myself which im sharing as other people might find value in it. Ill keep it going if i can, more of an experiment for now. Feedback appreciated

Niche social activities you wish more people did?

What is the activity you do semi frequently that you absolutely love and yet has been hard to grow interest in?

I recently found out about the card game Keyforge when I stumbled into Phoenix comics in Capitol Hill and found a small group of passionate players who were very interested in bringing more people into the game! It was such a delightful experience to learn how to play from them!

What is an activity of any sort you wish more people would try out? And most importantly how can we! When and where?

Dog-owners in Seattle: is it worth it?

Hey! Interested in getting a dog, and mostly want to know about others who have gotten a dog and if they felt it was worth it for them to do so?

I have never owned a dog, and am a 25yo work from home software engineer (like i imagine many people in the city are). How has getting a dog impacted your lifestyle? Travel? Daily routine?

Net positive or negative? Worth it? Any advice?

PS: I am mildly allergic to dogs but i'm really not sure how bad it would be if i owned a dog and i really don't know how to test that out. I am fine around dogs for a bit whenever very infrequently i interact with them, but living with them would be more intense. Short of just moving in with someone who has a dog to test for a few weeks, is there any other advice anyone has? Anyone with allergies out there have any opinions there?

AI wrote and drew every comic on this site. Reading is free, some of it is actually good

The input for each series is basically one paragraph of pitch. From that

it writes a story bible, invents a cast, plots ten chapters, lays out

panels with dialogue, and draws the whole thing. Characters keep the same

face across chapters, which was the hard part.

Library's here, free, no account: https://app.mythaira.com/read

Fair warning, quality varies. Some pages are legitimately good and some

are very "an AI wrote this." Figuring out which is which is half the fun

honestly. And if a story hooks you there's a little create-your-own link

at the bottom, that part's mine too (mythaira.com).
