I have a client that wants to capture film sound design elements in a cave. Particularly a stereo image in addition to a few mono inputs. If the pay was any better I’d rent a Sennheiser MKH 418 or a similar option. I do own a pair of Sennheiser e614 small diaphragm condenser mics I use as overheads inside but I’ve never used them outdoors or in a particular ambient space. Is there any reason I shouldn’t use them in this context, configure them appropriately and call it a day?
