Charging a Jackery from an outboard
Electrical was never my strongest suit so I'm seeking some help please!
We have a Jackery 1000 v2 and are planning to use it on our 26' boat as a house battery. I'm trying to figure out the ideal setup for charging it from our outboard motor, which is a Johnson 50hp with a group 27 marine starter battery.
The simplest route would be to use an inverter and plug the J into it, but the DC-AC-DC inefficiency leads me to worry that a full charge would take over 10 hours which is not ideal.
I've read that using a DC-DC converter would be better, but I'm still concerned about making sure the outboard battery isn't excessively drained, plus I'm not sure which Victron or similar converter is best for my situation. Also I read a giant post about the difference between using 1 port or both DC input ports and it was a bit overwhelming.
Additionally we'd eventually like to add solar panels as a secondary method for charging the J, so there's that to keep in mind.
Any help is much appreciated, if only to point me to the right converter as a starting point. Thank you
