"He doesn't want to have to deal with you."

One of my second graders (who has some behavioral issues) asked me where I was going to work next year. I told him I didn't know yet, but that I was looking at PK-3 jobs at this school and other schools. He asked if I could be his third grade teacher next year. Before I could say anything, my mentor teacher butted in, "Mr. Elater doesn't want to work here because he doesn't want to have to deal with you."

I once watched her essentially goad an ED student into a meltdown and laugh about it later. I can't stand her.

CEHD graduation speaker was a joke

For some reason, the guest speaker at our graduation was Edward Kwartler, the managing director for some AI company. This is the College of Education and Human Development.

Not only was he the wrong choice, but his speech was terrible. Strangely patronizing and admonishing at the same time. And he kept mentioning how he didn't get into Harvard.

Our student speaker had the only good speech of the whole ceremony.

30-40 hours a week for a 3 credit class?

I have one class left: ENGH 302. The professor emailed and said to expect to spend 30-40 hours a week on this class. I know its an accelerated course, but a single class as a second full-time job seems insane to me.

Honors cords

It looks like my only option for purchasing cords is going to the bookstore on campus. I'm not making a 1.5 hour trip just for that. I was already on the fence about spending $20.

Will anyone say boo if I get the $5 from another retailer and just wear 'em?

ETA: Thanks, I bought some online!
