Something Has Been on My Mind (FH6)

First off, I’m super glad that the general reception of FH6 is extremely positive overall. Huge congrats to Playground Games on their latest installment to the Horizon series and the great success it has had so far🎉🎉🎉 You identified what your audience wanted all along and you are delivering exactly that.

And to the Forza fans, great job for holding Playground Games accountable and advocating for yourselves. This is a huge achievement on your part and I hope you give yourselves credit for staying strong and seeing it come to fruition.

I’d like to address something. It’s something that’s been eating at me and lot of the persistent TDU fans alike. Please know this is not directed at the whole Forza community, but rather a much, much smaller, more toxic part of it. And no, even this smaller, toxic group that I’m referring to is not soley responsible for why TDUSC is where it is at now. That would be an absurd deduction, but so would saying that they did not play their role in this at all.

For everyone who has been harboring in this community like a cancer; not giving any meaningful feedback to make the game better and just using every opportunity to discredit what this game is and what it could be; here is your golden opportunity to migrate to FH6 and hopefully never return.

From my experience, most (not all) of these people came from Forza, much fewer from TCM, because FH5 was as underwhelming as a Horizon game could be. You all nested here in TDUSC’s community absolutely ravaging a game that was already in dismay. You plagued the devs with requests and complaints regarding the game’s qualities that made it UNIQE, rather than its blaring flaws that were left unattended. All to appease your fantasy of TDUSC being your FH5.5.

Prime example being the constant complaints about the graphic fidelity of the game that otherwise hasn’t changed. They bathed TDUSC in post-processing filters to make the game more vibrant, extremely contrasted, overly saturated, something that HKI definitely is not known for. All of a sudden you all are happy that we have a less accurate depiction of HKI. Granted the actual visual performance of the game was majorly unchanged. Weird…

Or how about the complaints of an economy that was perfectly suitable for a LIVE SERVICE game with approximately 100 cars at launch (and growing excruciating slowly)… You select few were so unhappy about having to actually PLAY THE GAME to progress that they had to find ways to feed you money for doing the bare minimum…

BUT WAIT! THAT WASN’T GOOD ENOUGH! You STILL found it so painful to play the game that the devs had to turn their backs on the sole TDU fanbase and stoop so low as to offer MONEY PACKS (diamonds) to allow you to buy in-game currency!!! SOMETHING THEY PROMISED THEY WOULD NEVER DO!!! All to make sure that you could fast track your way to faster cars, and a bigger cash balance. Oh, and for those of you who doubled down to dedicate the time to play TDUSC at a time when the game barely ran; unlocking what you all thought were time-exclusive cosmetics and vehicles—NEWSFLASH, everyone can access those now, even the vehicle you were GIFTED as an APOLOGY for having to play the game in the abysmal state that it was. Where does this sound familiar?

Everyone wanted more cars at some point of course but early on we the community had our minds set on fixing the core mechanics of the game first. Anyone who has played since launch can vouch that we HAVE NEVER had a fully functioning game. If it wasn’t the absence of server stability, it was game-breaking bugs, constant crashing, and everything in between. All while you drew comparisons about how FH has 10+ times as many cars without adjacently pointing out that Playground Games also has 10+ times the money and manpower than KT. You still can’t even start a multiplayer race and matchmake consistently without having a dedicated group of players to play with for crying out loud.

It’s extremely hard for a lot of you to understand that games of the same genre can coexist and concurrently shape their own identity parallel from one another. So often I’ve seen people in this community claim that one game would “kill” another. Why? Because those same people want to see multiple games slowly blend into the same thing. That is the only way a game or franchise could make another obsolete.

There’s being a fan of two games, making general observations of what either has to offer and EVEN what you have in one that you might want to see in another. On the contrary there’s being a CANCEROUS LEECH of two games and the ONLY thing you can do is draw stark comparisons, YES/NO, Black/White, Good/Bad from them rather than looking at a game independently and taking note of how one can improve in solitary.

You select few that played your part in disbanding the little sense of direction that we had here in this community, I hope you find your happy place, it ain’t here. Yet something tells me you folks could never be happy. Not until this game looks, feels and plays, just like Forza. Forza, Forza, Forza. “Forza has” this and “Forza does” that. You never wanted a better TDU… you just wanted another Forza. Well you got it now… Please, go home. And don’t come back until you can respect ours. Or don’t come back at all, we won’t beg you… The party is over. Leave us be. We have a lot to cleaning up to do.
