I’m having a tough time falling in love with my new to me 340i. I just came from the n55 335i f30 and to me it just had so much more road presence, how on earth does the same body style lack the same road presence? It very well could just be Estoril has more character than Alpine white, and I also know this is a dumb question but feel free to respond!
(Estoril is 335i and Alpine White is 340i)
My hair has been getting thinner and I’m not sure what to do. I’m quite self conscious about it so any advice helps.
My car has a intermittent rough idle on cold start. Here are the codes I pulled. Any ideas on what could be causing it? I’m assuming replacing O2 sensors but just wanted a second opinion
I posted here not too long ago about my 2016 340i getting a rough idle and driving very sluggishly. I wasn’t able to recreate the issue within the time frame but this morning when I started my car, the car began to idle and drive rough so I quickly ran a data log. I noticed the lambda value is jumping up and down. Is this normal or is this my issue?
I have no idea what is causing this rough idle. The car also feels like it’s cutting in and out of power while driving. I have no CEL but I do have a few ghost codes (I’ve listed my codes below) the exhaust flap code is because I have an aftermarket muffler. If anyone has any idea please LMK ASAP!
- DME active codes:
138104 - Exhaust flap, activation: Open circuit.
CD8E12 - LIN, message; alternator: Missing.
CDB309 - No message (climate air distribution status, 0x2E6), receiver DME, transmitter IHKA.

UPDATE: It’s the next day and I attempted to recreate the same exact drive as when the issue occurred. I cannot seem to replicate the issue but I know sure as hell it’ll sneak up on me eventually. I will keep this post updated if or when the issue comes back or if I figure out anything related to the issue.
