Multi family member loss
On March 7th 2023, in Chicago my sister in laws house caught fire and had two minor explosions with her and my 9 year old niece, 7 year old nephew and two years old nephew. We watched three brain death test. My 7 year old nephew died as we were boarding the plane to Chicago on the 8th. It happened at night and got the call at 6 in the morning. Our year had already started out with an Amazon layoff and catching COVID. I had just started a new job to try to keep us going for awhile. At the beginning I had my sister's best friend and some older friends helping me investigate . (Her husband was a Chicago firefighter arrested for DV and had a restraining order against him. My sister ( (in law) for the people who care about blood relations)) , was 9 hours from leaving with her three kids to Oregon to take care of her friend who had stage four cancer. My wife and I tried to be there as much as possible after our family died. She died in 2024. We called each other sisters and then in 2025 I was approached by Crime Junkies about my sisters and her kids death. I spent the next year working closely with them pulling evidence, pictures, videos, everything we had pulled together from the beginning. I had permission and access to all of my sister and her best friends data. So I started deep diving while going through severe depression, grief mental health issues, and found out my sister lied to me about her husband not hurting the kids. That the people I thought were my friends and assistants in the initial investigation, were talking crap about me behind my back, they were hiding pieces of evidence from my wife and I, and telling reporters we didn't want to talk, which was not true at all. My sisters friend stopped taking her chemo and never told anyone and died, so I can't confront her about the things she said. I can't confront my sister about the lies and staying when the kids were getting harmed. Instead telling everyone tiny bits and pieces we had to glue together. The Crime Junkies episode was released on February 8th this year which came with more fighting inside my wife's family and then our crazy relative who keeps making ai photos of them as if they were alive. My mother in law is struggling to grieve and pushing people away and we aren't sure what to do and we just got our third tech layoff in 3 years and she finally broke. She's currently inpatient and hopefully released tomorrow
TL:DR watch the crime Junkie episode that was released on February 8th about the Day+Stewart family.
