I got to affinity level 83 with Rafayel (leveling cards is grindy working on it tho), and it unlocked this text message.

Off topic, it’s a funny coincidence when I stubbed my big toe last evening getting off the shower (the throbbing pain oml don’t worry, my toe is hurting less now)

My favorite part I find cute, is the little figurine he made of us (for the diorama) being in his palm. It reminded me of how he is in our phone and we carry him in our pocket everywhere we go
Just the things he says makes my heart gush 🥰

I’m excited for the second part of this message bc it’s so cute. Generally, I like all the interactions he’s so expressive

(Mods, I apologize in advance that this might not be entirely related to LaDS, simply bc I felt inspired by Rafayel’s myth. Instead, this might as well be me hyping up for Rafayel’s myth)

This is my first post, so I hope I got the flair correct as it is about Rafayel.

Ever since Rafayel’s myth, Vermillion Martial God, has been revealed, I felt inspired to create a post highlighting a few recommendations here that others have suggested. In fact, this myth has pulled me out of my 3 month C-Drama slump. Normally, I reach for Xianxia/Wuxia dramas for fantasy elements, but his myth has encouraged me to dip my toes into war genre. (Seriously, Rafayel’s concepts can pique my curiosity of anything at this point)

Therefore, I wanted to create a small immersion package of C-dramas for Rafayel’s myth. While the handful of dramas may or may not have directly inspired his myth, they share a common theme of war and romance.

Pursuit of Jade (PoJ)
Legend of the Female General (LotFG)
The Long Ballad (TLB)

Honorable mention:
The Double (2024)

Disclaimer: I have not watched these dramas before, so this selection is based on my impressions that remind me of Rafayel’s myth. Thus, I cannot provide my review or opinions about these dramas in relation to Rafayel’s myth.

My pick to watch:
I have decided to watch Legend of the Female General, and contrary to the cover, it is not as intense as it appears.
I picked this C-Drama bc the premise of the female MC who strives to reach high ranks to be a general reminds me of our MC, who Rafayel refers to her as general. Watching 10 episodes in, I enjoyed the MC, He Yan’s who is very ambitious, clever, yet also very perceptive in her surroundings and the information she seeks out.

I don’t consider this drama to be perfect by any means, but I like it so far. I didn’t watch PoJ first bc I knew this would set very high expectations for future dramas I watch.

If there are any more recs of C-dramas that feel like Rafayel’s myth, I would appreciate hearing it.
