My latest strategy to fight low pay and keep my ratings high
I have been fighting with DD support for the last 3 days (so you don't have to). Of course the biggest issue has been support agents telling me one thing, then another telling me something different. I had a support agent tell me, while I was complaining about my acceptance rate falling to below 20% due to offers sent to me that would cost me money (meaning the pay was inadequate), "you can accept low paying offers and just call support to have it unassigned WITHOUT affecting your completion rate. I had them document that. Of course that wasn't true, because the next rep told me "we can only adjust your completion rate 1% every 7 days." THAT wasn't even true, because THE NEXT REP was able to adjust my completion rate 2% points back to 100%.
So I'm done. If this is how it's going to be, I'm going to make it extremely difficult for them to maintain a customer base. I am currently "waiting" for an offer that is paying $0.89 per mile outside my zone with no additional pay offered. I will raise my acceptance rate by accepting all offers, then WAITING in the parking lot until the app allows me to unassign it without affecting my completion rate.
Is the customers food sitting out getting cold? Oh man...that really sucks. And it would totally suck even more if the customer got their order and had it completely refunded on arrival because of the wait time. I really don't care anymore, this is a multi-million dollar company that price gouges its customers, scams the merchant and dasher just to make 80% profit on every order. I am an independent contractor, and I will NOT accept poverty wages anymore.
Thanks for coming to my TED talk.
