First grow — I definitely underestimated these girls 😂🌱

Well… lack of experience got me. When my plants were around 29 inches tall, I cut the main tops because for some reason I thought it would help me save space.
Yeah… that didn’t exactly go according to plan. 😂

I eventually had to move them out of the tent, and now I’ve got these absolute monsters standing around 44 inches tall.
Definitely learned something from this grow. The good news is they still look healthy and they’ve made it into early flower. 🌱
Not exactly what I planned, but I’m enjoying watching how they turn out.

How crazy is 44 inches for an indoor autoflower?

I think they’ve officially outgrown this tent 🌱

Every time I open the tent, they seem bigger than the day before. I definitely underestimated how much space they would need, but that’s a good problem to have.
They’re looking healthy and filling the canopy fast. I’m preparing a second tent to give them more room. How do they look to you, and what would you do next?

Bought it for coins… now I can’t wait to see my own buds 🔬🌱

I originally bought this digital microscope to inspect coins, but I quickly realized it’s perfect for getting a close look at buds and trichomes too. The amount of detail is incredible. Now I’m dying to see what mine look like when they’re finally ready!

It all started with choosing the right seeds 🌱

Before starting, I spent a lot of time researching seed banks and reading recommendations from other growers. That’s what led me to these genetics, and I’m genuinely happy with the results I’ve seen so far.

There’s still plenty to learn, but seeing those little seeds turn into healthy plants has made the whole process worth it. Which of these strains would you grow first?

Fresh water, fresh nutrients, and a calmer mind

I changed all the water and added fresh nutrients yesterday morning. Today they looked absolutely spectacular, and the smell inside the tent was incredible.
Taking care of them, noticing every change and watching them develop has become one of the best hobbies I could have chosen to help me manage my anxiety. It gives me something peaceful and positive to focus on every day.

My first big DWC mistake—and the plant that taught me to trust my instincts

While filling a bucket, I opened both faucets because I wanted it to fill faster. The hot water ended up overpowering the cold.
The moment I felt the water, my instinct told me something wasn’t right—but my lack of experience won. I thought, “It’ll probably be fine.”
It wasn’t.

Shortly afterward, the plant completely drooped and stopped growing. For almost an entire week, it remained the same size while the others continued developing. I honestly thought I had permanently damaged it.

Little by little, it began showing signs of life again. New growth appeared, the leaves recovered, and today the plant is healthy and moving forward.

That experience taught me two important lessons: water temperature matters tremendously in DWC, and when your instincts tell you something is wrong, stop and verify before continuing.

It was a painful beginner mistake, but watching her recover made me appreciate this process even more.

Proud of these roots for my first DWC grow—but I’m not getting comfortable yet

For my first DWC grow, I’m honestly proud of how well these plants and roots are developing. I started on August 8 with very little experience, and seeing this much healthy root growth feels like a small victory.
I recently completed a full reservoir change and added fresh nutrients. The roots feel firm, there’s no slimy texture or bad smell, and I believe the light tan color is mostly nutrient staining.
Even though everything appears to be going well, I’m still being extremely careful. I know that in DWC, one mistake with pH, water temperature, nutrients or oxygen can quickly affect everything. I’m checking them daily, watching the new root tips and trying to learn from every change.
I’m proud of the progress, but I know there’s still a lot to learn. What do you think of the roots, and what would you continue monitoring at this stage?

Root update after a full water change — how do they look?

Today I completely changed the water in every bucket and added fresh nutrients. Here’s how the roots looked during the process.
This is my first DWC grow, so I’m still learning and paying close attention to every change. Do the roots look healthy to you? Is there anything else I should be watching after a fresh reservoir change?

Time to change the water

I’m excited to move them into their new tent. The only problem is… I haven’t bought it yet 😂 But hey, those are the kind of problems you’re happy to have! 🌱💚

I fall in love with this grow every time I open the tent

Honestly, there isn’t a single day when I open the tent and don’t fall in love with this process all over again.
Thanks to everyone’s advice, I now understand that I need to move some of them into a second tent. That will give each plant enough space and allow me to bring out their full potential.
I’m still learning, but I’m truly enjoying every step of this journey. Thank you all!

I also decided to experiment with one small plant — what do you guys think?

As part of this whole adventure, I decided to keep one plant small just to experiment and see how it would turn out. No big expectations, just wanted to try something different and learn from it.

First DWC grow — I think I started too many plants. What should I do now?

Hey everyone! I’m completely new to DWC and have been growing these plants since August 8. They’ve been under light from 7:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m. every day.

Because it was my first attempt, I started several plants thinking some of them probably wouldn’t survive—but things went much better than I expected, and now the tent is getting crowded.
What would you recommend doing next? Should I defoliate them, install a trellis net, or do something else to manage the space and keep them healthy?
I appreciate any advice!
