How to add non-ROM non Steam games in Emudeck to take advantage of the parser?

Sorry if this question has already been asked, but after hours of searching online I could not find anything of the sort. Every question is about ROM games, but ROM games, if added to the proper subfolder in the roms folder, parses correctly and shows up in Steam Rom Manager.

I am looking for a way to add non-ROM, non Steam games such that I can parse it using Steam Rom Manager. Is there such a way?

Thanks.

Edit: Kinda funny how people are radio silent for this question, when I remember a while back someone made a tool for exactly this (can't find it anymore because it got downvoted to oblivion) and people took a dump on it saying that Steam ROM Manager can parse for non ROM games as well. Maybe that was a parallel universe I read that post in and I unintentionally was transported to a universe where that post never existed, or the average person on this sub is not only stupid but also malicious. Absolute cinema.

Bioinformatic work in a wet-lab group

Hi all, I've been working as a bioinformatics researcher in an interdisciplinary lab that is primarily wet-lab (I'd say 80% wet, 20% dry split). I was wondering if anyone else's PI doesn't double check your code. I'm at Master's level, and this is kinda scaring me. I've worked on substantial projects, but I only have myself to check code with and one other postdoc who is unavailable 95% of the time. Is this something that happens frequently or no?

UBC needs to beef with RICE university

This is the 5th time seeing a blatant error in the openstax physics textbook. Not sure about other subjects, but god damn, RICE university sucks. Imagine if UBC openly supported an open-source project that was dogwater -- fuck em.

Why is the physics openstax textbook so horribly written?

Not seeking any answers (but if you do have the answer, great please share why) but it's more to rant.

I had to read both volume 1 and volume 2 (which I am currently reading) and dear LORD do they suck at explaining things. From calling the dented surface the "inner" surface to straight up incorrect derivations on oscillations, on simple addition too...

I had 0 problems with other textbooks ever, and I consider myself to be pretty literate and able to understand concepts, but WOW. This fucking 'textbook' makes me feel like I'm trying to do physics while my jugular is getting pumped full of methamphetamine and rabies. Christ.

UBC Second Choice Admission Timeline

Does anyone know the timeline for UBC science second choice admission?

I'm coming in as a second degree student, got my first choice but I didn't want it so I contacted admissions to consider me for second choice in late April (they said ok). It's mid-June and my admissions portal is still saying the same thing for second choice "As you were admitted to another choice of program, an evaluation of this choice was not conducted."

Really Microsoft

"We’re writing to let you know about an upcoming change to Microsoft OneDrive storage for students at UBC.

On October 1, 2026, UBC will introduce a 100 GB storage limit for student OneDrive accounts.

This change is being driven by a broader shift from Microsoft in how storage is allocated to post-secondary institutions:

(please replace xx with tt when pasting the below links into a browser)

hxxps://www.microsoft.com/en-us/education/products/microsoft-365-storage-options

Last year, Microsoft implemented a significant change, imposing new storage limits on all education M365 environments. This change resulted in many educational institutions, including UBC, exceeding their total allotment of storage for the service. Most universities across Canada have already responded by reducing OneDrive storage limits as a means to curb excessive usage. Over the past year, UBC took the time to carefully consider options, review impacts, and check in with other universities, whilst absorbing the cost of the excessive storage required. Beginning this fall, OneDrive quotas will be revised to help address this ongoing storage challenge."

You already know ts is because of AI and data centers. Fuck Microslop. Ts is exactly why I encourage everyone to use Linux (or if you seriously can't help it, Apple) and stay away from these corporate scumbags who are the harbinger of instability. The fact that these dumbasses own Github is the reason I can't fucking sleep properly at night. I was using way over 100 GB and now I'm gonna get fucking shat on because these shitters decided to just randomly take a dump on me. I'm so sorry I can't afford 10 x 2 TB pack of SSDs, a home server rack, and infinite electricity to sustain my activities, unlike a corporation/institution. God damn these fucking Microsloppytoppy mother fuckers. I swear if anyone starts working for these Artificial Intelligence-sucking, Artificial Meat-producing, Red Meat Allergy-inducing, Tick-releasing, environment-destroying conspiratorial pieces of shits I will stop being your friend unless you post your code online.

Edit: Didn't know they purposely omitted this fact in the email: Everyone used to have 1 TB of cloud storage on OneDrive. Now everyone gets 100 GB. This is a 90% reduction in storage capacity for everyone. Good luck to junior scientists that play around with large datasets in their free time! Especially neuroscientists that have raw data ranging from a couple MBs to hundreds of GBs. UBC OneDrive is simply not good enough for large-data scientific endeavors!

Help me extrapolate the rating of the next Shinkai movie!

I'm a huge fan of his works. I am also a believer that Shinkai's movies have been experiencing a drop in quality (i.e., rating) as time goes on. To quantitatively analyze whether my alternative hypothesis is true, I want to make a poll to help me answer this question. I am posting on this subreddit since I only want the opinions of Shinkai movie experts and not some normie plebs, since I tried to make a model using publicly available movie rating data (e.g., IMDb, Rotten Tomatoes) and I saw that people were giving Suzume and Weathering With You absurdly high ratings (which I think is objectively wrong).
