hello, im a second generation immigrant in the states my whole life though my parents are iraqi. they always over exaggerate and tell me it’s the greatest and safest country in the world though i know theres obviously pros and cons to everything. i would love to hear if its truly safe especially for a girl. would i be able to wear what i want? (usual summer attire that’s normal here such as shorts and a tank top), is harassment common? are crimes common? i always get mixed responses regarding these things and the recent honor killing of the 15 year old girl and the new years festival incident in basra throws me off.
