Why are 2nd year boys dropping out of JUIT? 😰

Hey seniors,

I recently heard that some 2nd year boys are dropping out of college. Felt a bit shocking because usually people settle in after admission.!!

Can you tell me

  1. Is this true? If yes or no?!!

  2. What's the reason?!! Too many backlogs?!! ,Placement anxiety? , Strict attendance!! , Mess/food ?!! ,Personal reasons?!! Any other internal issue?

  3. Does this happen every year or is something different this time?!!

Some seniors told me that the Physics department's strictness is the reason people are dropping out – is there any truth to this?

Feeling a bit worried for all of us . Please share the ground reality. 🙏!!!

JUIT Solan: Best hostel for 1st year boys? Or PG is better?

Hey seniors, need advice on accommodation for 1st year boys:

  1. Which on-campus hostel is the best for freshers? (Facilities, mess, location, seniors' vibe)

  2. Do they even allow 1st years to stay in PG outside? Or is hostel mandatory?

  3. If PG is allowed, is it actually better than hostel? (food freedom, curfew, comfort?)

  4. Which hostels should I avoid?

hostel vs PG - what's the difference??

Drop your honest suggestions. Thanks!

JUIT Solan Reality Check – is the hype real?

  1. Placements: Reviews are all over the place – some say average is 6-7 LPA, others claim 10+ LPA . What's the real ground reality for CSE students?

  1. Attendance: Everyone mentions the strict 80% attendance rule – how strictly is it enforced? Has anyone actually been debarred?

  1. Mess Food: Some call it "best in India," others say "sometimes too bad" . What's the actual verdict?

  1. Events & Fests: Mixed reviews – some say great fests (Le Fiestus, Murious), others say "very few events and not that good" . Which is it?

  1. Nightlife/Going Out: Curfew at 8 PM for boys, 9:30 PM for girls – does this kill the college vibe?

  1. Faculty: Physics department called "strictest" – any other departments to watch out for?

  1. The remote location – is it actually peaceful for studying or just isolating and boring?

Current students – what do you wish you knew before joining??
