Salary posting laws

I know it's not federally required, but the states in which I'm applying, salary range is a legal requirement for job listings. I've been noticing that fewer companies are posting salary ranges and instead I'm asked to state my expectation, while filing out their application. I've since stopped applying to jobs that do not post their range.

Is anybody else noticing this trend?
