Mirena experiences after long term pill use?

Hi all, I’m due to get the Mirena inserted next week and I’m really, really nervous about it (never had an IUD but have been on various hormonal birth control pills non-stop for 12 years). I’ve been searching in this sub but haven’t been able to find many experiences from people who said they were on hormonal birth control pills for years prior - I’ve seen a lot of negative comments describing hormonal/mood changes and other symptoms developing after getting the Mirena, but it seems like they might be first-time birth control experiences or coming from a baseline of non-hormonal birth control use.

I’m wondering if the Mirena (smaller amount of hormones and localized to the uterus) would actually be an improvement for me because I’ve been struggling with hormonal issues on the pill (mood, weight, breast tenderness, etc.)

I’m curious about other people’s experiences (good or bad) adjusting to the Mirena after long-term pill use. Thanks so much!!
