C-section Experience
Hi ladies. First off I’ll caveat this by saying I am 2.5 years postpartum so this isn’t fresh, but I’m only now having the chance to think back about my experience.
I do not want to scare any expectant mothers off c- sections at all but I more so would love feedback from others who went through similar to me.
I went into birth without a plan as I was aware and accepting of the fact that it’s unpredictable. Obviously I would have preferred to experience a vaginal birth but it didn’t go that way and I had an emergency section. Cannot fault the midwives and doctors - all amazing and seamless. I accepted it straight away as I would be happy as long as my baby got here safely.
Anyway, how did fellow mammies feel in the days post c-section? Looking back, I was totally out of it on the pain meds they were giving me. I didn’t ask questions when they brought me meds every few hours - I just took them as I trusted the process and did what I was told. I was hallucinating and swaying during the night while simultaneously trying to figure out how to be a mammy for the first time. Is this a normal experience? Have others experienced similar?
