Why do I not get very many matches, or can’t seem to get past the first date?

I don’t know if I’m not attractive enough to get matches or if it’s the way my profile is set up, but I can’t seem to find much luck on dating apps. And if I do get a date with a girl whether it’s through going out to a bar or from the apps I can’t seem to get a second date. And maybe it’s my personality or social skills but I feel like I come across as too direct or abrupt when talking. And I also find there’s period of awkward silence during the date or not enough progression in the conversation when talking on the apps. I’m not trying to sit here and feel sorry myself I just wanna ask all the females on here what I could do to improve or what I may be doing wrong.
