Applying to the citizenship at the last day of quitting

Hey folks, I came to Germany with Blue Card at October 31st 2021 then started working the next day; November 1st.

I have been working without a day off in till then, I also got my permanent residency last year. I received an exciting offer from another company, I want to take it. And my start date will be November 1st 2026, the very next day of my 5 year anniversary.

I am planning to apply for the citizenship before I change my job so that I don't wait for 6 months to end probation in the new company. Not sure if it's okay to apply during probation. This is my plan:

  • Get an Arbeitsbescheinigung from my current employer on the last week. They are okay with not mentioning the termination on the letter (not sure if this is mandatory but they said they can omit that if I want as I'm a good leaver).
  • Apply for the citizenship literally in the day of my 5 year anniversary of coming to Germany: October 31st, 2026
  • Then start working on my new job the very next day
  • Then it will probably take months for them to get back to me with a reply. I will let them know about the change when they get back to me.

I don't want to wait for another 6 months to apply but of course then I don't want to to break any rules or piss them off either. Would this work out?

Or should I just apply the very next week after starting my new job in the first week of my probation?

Salary range for Amazon Kernel/Hypervisor Engineer position in Berlin

Hey folks, I got into the second stage for this role in Berlin and I'm trying to have an idea about the compensation package for this role.

I have been doing embedded all the time and never worked for big tech or in a kernel engineering position. I actually interviewed for this role last year too and failed after the last round. At the time I only had 10 days to prepare with no prior leetcode or system design interview experience. I think I didn't do bad in the coding and LPs but as fw engineer I couldn't handle the system design question (build snapchat) as I was prepared for a low level system design mostly.

Anyway, the point here is that I already have an offer and another process going. The offer is already good enough for me to switch from my current role. I want to know if wasting 2 more weeks for a role that I failed in past, and most probably will fail again, is worth the money.

Glassoor or levels.fyi doesn't have much entries for this role so I wanted to get the opinion of people who actually work in this role or at least know the compensations from the first hand.

Hypothetically speaking, if Amazon won't offer at least 130-140k for this role, I will just give up and spend my time on the second process.

Does anyone give me some hints about the salaries, or is this something that I can openly ask to the recruiter?
