My friend’s 6 y/o grandson (who has cancer) is asking for a “God birthday”
Hey y’all, my friend’s grandson was recently diagnosed with brain cancer. He was admitted to a children’s hospital 4.5 hours away from them in NC, and they finally got approved for a room at the Ronald McDonald House this week. His birthday is coming up (26Nov), and as they get settled into more of a routine, he’s been asking for a “God birthday.” Not a one of us can figure out what he means.
For context:
▪️Her family is not especially religious, though her best friend (with whom I am also friends) is. However, I don’t believe he’s had much exposure to this topic, and we are unaware of any staff speaking with him about religion. ▪️He’s not at a Christian hospital.
▪️His mother is pregnant and due with his baby brother 17Nov.
▪️When he first started treatment, I got him a light-up dragon stuffy (he loves dragons), and he named it “Stronger.” Just… out of the blue. No real explanation for it.
✨ETA:✨ (11Oct, ~ 1530)
▪️We have asked him what he means, but have yet to receive any sort of actual description.
▪️I am personally long distance from this (SW Ohio, they’re in middle to east NC.)
▪️I have truly enjoyed, and have had my cup filled by my interactions with y’all here.
▪️The family does have a gofundme and a cashapp, but per this subreddit’s rules, I do not want to post them. There is talk of an online wishlist, as well. SHOULD YOU WANT THESE LINKS, I’m happy to send them privately, but that was not the goal of this post, and I want to make that abundantly clear.
Obviously, we’ve got something on our hands here, though I do not know what, and I hope it’s not some sort of premonition situation. Does anyone have any thoughts/similar experiences? Thank you! 💞
I, and our chosen family, appreciate your support, love, thoughts, and prayers more than you can ever know. There’s truly strength and power in collected energy and love.
