Pelo segundo ano consecutivo teremos dois tenistas portugueses na 3.ª ronda de Roland Garros. Após a excelente prestação de Nuno Borges e Henrique Rocha em 2025, este ano teremos Nuno Borges e Jaime Faria.
Nuno Borges não é novo nestas andanças, sendo esta a sua sexta 3.ª ronda de um torneio do Grand Slam (e a segunda em Roland Garros). Para chegar cá, bateu Tomas Martin Etcheverry por 3-0 e Miomir Kecmanovic por 3-1.
Jaime Faria, por outro lado, chega pela primeira vez à 3.ª ronda de um torneio do Grand Slam. Vindo da qualificação (onde bateu Grigor Dimitrov, Colton Smith e Lukas Neumayer), no quadro principal bateu Denis Shapovalov por 3-0 e Jan-Lennard Struff por 3-0. Atenção que Dimitrov já foi #3 mundial e Shapovalov já foi #10.

Nuno Borges is back to the Round 3 of Roland Garros after last year's run!
The Portuguese #1 tentatively climbs back onto the top 50 and will face Andrey Rublev for the third time this season (lost 3-6 4-6 in Hong Kong QF and lost 4-6 6-1 1-6 in Monte Carlo R64). Overall, the h2h is fully on Rublev's side: 4-0 with only one set dropped. It is their first meeting in a Grand Slam main draw.

Good start for the Portuguese players at this year's Roland Garros. After Nuno Borges' straight sets win against Tomás Etcheverry, now the Portuguese #2 Jaime Faria beats top 40 Denis Shapovalov, also in straight sets.
Having some up from qualifying, Faria tentatively re-enters the top 100 a year later. He will face Jan-Lennard Struff in the round 2.

Evolution of position and points for the 2025/26 National League's two title candidates, York City FC and Rochdale AFC
After yesterday's crazy finish to the 2025/26 National League, where the top two teams faced each other in the final day to claim the title and the only automatic promotion spot to the English Football League, I decided to produce some graphs with the evolution of the two teams' position, points, goals scored and goal difference.
Bear in mind that these values are representative of the matches in the theoretical match day and does not account for postponed matches which took place weeks or months after their initial date.
