For context of my MIL: she and my husband's dad divorced, she remarried to her new husband who is very well off money wise, she lives out of state with her new husband, and she is currently a stay at home wife. She definitely embodies that typical MIL trope where things must go her way, she's closed minded, is into overconsumption products you see on social media (she spends a lot of time watching tiktoks and such), and gives pick me energy.

My MIL is staying with me and my husband for a couple of months to visit her daughter (my SIL) as she recently had her second kid. My SIL doesn't have a spare/guest room at her home, so my MIL is staying with me and my husband during the duration of her visit.

My husband puts on one of my favorite movies (the F1 movie) to watch since his mom was downstairs with us and said "yeah let's watch a movie" when he asked so we can show how nice the picture quality is on our new tv. She's on her phone watching tiktoks/IG Reels/fb shorts on full blast the whole time the movie is playing, and asking "whats going on" questions every 15 minutes. I got so fed up so I went upstairs midway through the movie because "i was starting to feel tired". But in all actuality its because she's being disrespectful (to me) watching tiktoks on her phone during the movie, but i was not about to say that out loud. She went back in her room (she's staying in my old bedroom/wfh office) later on watching more whatever on facebook on full blast as I am trying to wind down from feeling upset and frustrated.

This is just one of many many many other things she has done that has caused me so much frustration, stress, and made me upset during her visit.
