Firebox Pottery Studio is coming to the former Belmont Media Center space
Hi neighbors!
We're excited to introduce Firebox Pottery Studio, a new community ceramics studio opening this fall at 9 Lexington Street, in the former Belmont Media Center space near Waverley Square.
We're building Firebox as a welcoming place for people to learn, make, and develop a lasting ceramics practice — whether you've never touched clay before or have been making pottery for years.
Here's what we're planning:
- Wheel throwing and handbuilding classes for beginners and developing potters
- Independent studio memberships for experienced makers
- Short workshops and visiting-artist programs
- Date nights, Make Your Own Mug sessions, and other community events
- Private group gatherings and other opportunities to make with friends and neighbors
The studio will include dedicated spaces for classes, handbuilding, independent practice, glazing, firing, and displaying finished work. We hope it becomes a place where people meet, learn something new, and make things they're proud of.
We're still building out the space, but we're looking forward to opening our doors and becoming part of the Belmont community. Once we're ready, we'd love for you to stop by, see the studio, meet us, and check out what we're building.
We'd also love to hear from you: What kinds of pottery classes, workshops, or community events would you be interested in?

We can't wait to meet you!
