Repeater question

I’m brand new to MeshCore. I have a ThinkNode M6 that I just flashed as a repeater. I’m 99% sure I did it correctly. I do not have a companion node yet. I can’t connect the repeater in the MeshCore app, as it not discoverable via Bluetooth. I completed the repeater set up on MeshCore.io and everything looks good for my region and it saved successfully. Do I need a companion node in order to communicate with my repeater? I should be able to connect directly to it, right? I’ve tried resetting and it still doesn’t show up in Bluetooth. Any ideas?

Are there really no other nodes in the Outer Banks, or have I not been here long enough to pick some up?

I’ve been here for two days with my node running the entire time and I haven’t picked up anybody else down here. Cell service and Wi-Fi was completely out on the entire island yesterday until about 7 PM because some utility company hit the fiber optic line or something. It would’ve been the perfect use case scenario. I only brought one node down, but wish I had another to give to my son and his friends so I could communicate with them.
