Giving up on MCT...

Been using MCT oil (Hunter Gatherer Pure C8) for over a month. A small amount on a dropper bottle, dropped onto the scabby areas of my scalp and gently rubbed in for 30+ seconds then left overnight in a silk cap.

While it initially did help, the yellow crusty scalp flakes have come back with a vengeance and my SebDerm has started to spread further onto my scalp, where it was previously just on the top. It's weeping, cracking, burning pain and even a heavier wind feels painful.

I'm currently back to Aveeno sensitive baby shampoo trying to get the scalp pain to calm down before I start tackling more of the flake with ketoconazole again.

I'm hoping to see a dermatologist at some point, but it's a grey area on my health insurance and I currently can't afford to be charged full price if it comes down to that.

8 months into treatment, not much better. Any other ideas?

My Seb Derm was diagnosed in autumn/winter last year after over a year of a crusty, easily punctured top scalp. The final biting point for me making an appointment with my GP was using Eucerin and my entire scalp going nuclear on me.

My flakes are bad, but my main issue is the yellow scabs and crusts that develop. They take forever to dry out, and they crack and split under the slightest pressure.

My current routine that I've been on for the past few months, while it is better than it was, it's still flaring up and causing issues. I had steroids for a little bit, but found that they only help the itch a little.

SebCo: overnight one night per week

Ketoconazole shampoo: one wash per week, left on for 10 minutes

Aveeno Apple Cider Vinegar shampoo/Aveeno Oat Derma shampoo every 2-3 days, wash twice.

Blow dry after every wash, no products

I try to take multivitamins, including zinc and magnesium, but I'm also absolutely awful at remembering to take any oral medication.

My diet is high protein, as I compete and coach in a high intensity sport, and do strength and conditioning to maintain my health for this.

Activity, as above. I train/ coach/ work out 5/6 days a week.

Stress wise, I'm doing better, but spent months job hunting on a part time contract, seeing my savings dwindle away.

I keep getting adverts on social media for companies like MooGoo, Seb Serum etc. got put onto a Health Insurance Provider through my new job last month, so planning to maybe go to a dermatologist soon through that when I get paid next month.

Has anyone got any better ideas for the next few weeks until I can see a dermatologist?

Had varying levels of pain in right front shoulder for the past 3 weeks or so. Just started a new job, so no money for sports physio to work their magic at the moment, so I've been researching and chatting to my PT to figure out what it could be. Signs all point to Bicep Tendonopathy.

I've started on doorframe stretches and resistance band work to get it better, also icing it regularly.

Any ideas on things to help in judo? High pulls have not been fun and it's getting in to competition season here. On a positive note. My left handed skills are getting better!
