I just downloaded Hinge and Bumble. I'm still not over my ex lover but it's been 9 months and no contact so I'm trying to put myself out there in hope to finally move on forcefully. I feel like I'll never be ready if I keep waiting to feel so.

I just made Hinge and Bumble. I'm a Black woman. I hate to say this to sound stuck up or have people focus on this instead of answering but I'm pretty attractive across the board. Years ago I would get flooded with likes upon downloading the apps. Great personality. No red flags. Met all previous romantic partners via apps.

But so far on Hinge I got about 10 likes. 7 were from thug types and absolutely nothing about my profile screams I'm into that. When I sent likes out, I liked mostly white men and one black man. I got a match from the black man. Messaged first, messaged back, then no reply after.

I see really great profiles in standouts but those and none like them show up in my deck.

Bumble, 12 likes and I'm seeing the same profile I saw several months ago.

I know many guys don't get likes. I know I'm a few years older. Please don't use this post as an excuse to air out your problems or use it to stick it to women. Please don't be rude.

I noticed the change and wondering if it's normal? I wouldn't think twice in a small town but find it strange in NYC area. Has anyone else had this happen? Does it mean I'm shadow banned?

Also, I noticed a lot of guys there are unattractive or don't have a job, traveling, looking for casual. No bio or just Insta handle. And before anyone says anything about 6ft3 and a millionaire, I actually prefer guys under 5ft10 and am into big brained/nerdy + outdoorsy/athletic guys. But unfortunately I swiped left a lot before occasionally swiping right and I broadened my interests as well.
