i only get waves/curls if i use a really specific hair mask - need help finding a replacement!!
second slide is what my hair looks like without it, third slide is the product in question
it's a hair mask from prose, which i know is basically a scam (they do "personalized haircare" based on your answers to a survey but it's on a subscription - i got the first month discounted and then immediately canceled it) but for some reason it's also the only product that comes close to giving me ringlets and my hair gets stringy and flat without it
i would love to find a replacement that isn't from that brand but unfortunately the container doesn't even list ingredients other than the ones in the photo 😭 i know it was supposed to be a hydrating hair mask but that's about it so figured i'd ask this sub!
routine (first slide, day 2 hair):
- prose custom hair mask first, wait like 5 minutes for it to soak in
- pantene strengthening damage repair shampoo
- pantene conditioner from the same line, separate roots by finger combing outwards while the conditioner is still in, turn hair upside down and brush it with a regular wet brush, then rinse most of the conditioner out and brush again
- aussie instant freeze sculpting gel while hair is still soaking wet, prayer hands / scrunching
- further scrunching with cotton shirt until hair no longer soaks the fabric
- let air dry for like an hour, then scrunch with olaplex bonding oil
routine in second slide is the same but without the hair mask! also my hair is somewhat damaged (some bleach with partial highlights, hard water area, wash almost every day, and sometimes blown out) and i don't do anything to protect my hair while sleeping
