I’m finally happy with my glasses case design

I’ve been working on this design for about a year now. I've made countless iterations and prototypes over that time, but something always felt just off—a detail wasn't right, the fit wasn't perfect, or it just didn't work for me. But with this latest version, I've finally found a design that works and satisfies me. Super proud to share it with you all!

JunLin vs. Crimson Hides vs. Palosanto Edge Bevelers

Hi everyone,

I am looking to invest in a high-quality set of edge bevelers and have narrowed my choices down to three premium brands. I want to buy a consistent set of 3 bevelers from the same brand to cover my main leather thicknesses:

0.8mm – 1.0mm / 2 - 2.5 oz
1.5mm / 3.5 - 4 oz
2.0mm / 5 oz

Before I drop a significant amount of money (especially with EU import fees), I’ve found some conflicting information and would love to hear from people who actually own and use these tools. Specifically, I am looking at:

JunLin (VG10 Stainless Steel)
Crimson Hides (DC53 Steel)
Palosanto (HSS-M2 Steel)

I would highly appreciate your real-world experience regarding a few specific points:

The Cut Geometry: Do these brands cut a flat 45-degree chamfer (flat bottom), or do they actually scoop out a rounded profile (round bottom/U-shape)? I read conflicting opinions on whether Palosanto leaves a flat or rounded cut. What is your experience with the edge shape right off the tool?

Edge Retention: How well do these different steels (VG10 vs. DC53 vs. HSS-M2) hold up in daily use?

Maintenance & Stropping: How easy are they to keep sharp? What is your preferred method for stropping or resharpening them (e.g., specific rod sizes, thread/cord, diamond paste)?

Sizing Recommendations: Since sizing numbers vary wildly between brands, which specific sizes (#0, #1, #2, etc.) would you recommend for each of these brands to match my three target leather thicknesses (2-2.5 oz, 3.5-4 oz, and 5 oz)?

Thanks a lot for your help and insights!

Hey everyone,

my current mouse is starting to die (SteelSeries Sensei 310), so I’m looking for a new wireless mouse. I’m open to brands from China as well if the price/performance is good.

What I’m looking for:

  • High-quality coating (no cheap/plasticky feel)
  • Buttons with a not too loud or high-pitched click
  • A scroll wheel with some resistance / tactile feedback
  • At least 2 side buttons
  • Good battery life (I don’t want to charge it every few days)

What I don’t really care about:

Polling rate, weight (to a certain extent – my current mouse is 96g...)

Usage: Mainly home office and games like Anno, maybe occasionally Elden Ring

Hand size: 18 cm (middle finger to wrist), mostly using a claw grip

Would really appreciate any recommendations or experiences!

*edit: as a casual gamer my preferred price range would be up to 70€/80$
